We just got back from Michigan yesterday.. rather, we *survived* traveling across the country and back with a toddler and a newborn and will be drinking celebratory champagne from this day forth. Insert all the praise hands! I had a minute before things got crazy busy again so I thought I’d post some pictchas! Both of those kiddos did WAY better than I expected on the plane and although it was a bit stressful at times and schedules are no more, WE MADE IT and had such a great time seeing Greg’s family. Let’s start things out with these two:
There was a little neighbor boy who was excited to meet a particular little girl. He had been practicing saying “Abbie” in anticipation of her arrival and finally came to meet her. Naturally, she wanted nothing to do with him. Until…
…he spoke her love language and fed her food. A cookie or twelve to be more specific.
They stared at each other and became fast friends.
She patted him sweetly.
He fed her more cookies. Life was grand.
But then. *insert tiny tear here*
My baby girl got her first kiss… and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
I mean like real first kiss. Um, duh I took a picture. I’m THAT mom.
They shared his hat. She pushed him off the stairs and thus ended their sweet romance.
But seriously… he’s lucky he’s cute. My :'( baby :'( girl :'( is growing up so fast :”'(
Let’s move on.
Lexi was a baby whisperer. We are currently trying to figure out how to sneak her here and make her stay.
The next day (my favorite day!) we went to the cutest little orchard!
There were lots of animals and cuteness all around!
This goat thingy was so funny! You could put food in this little cup and raise it up on this rope, to the goat (which, you know, if I was a kid, I’d think it was the coolest thing ever..) I’m an adult and thought it was pretty darn cool. SO Swiss Family Robinson! And then there was this oat shoot that you could put oats in and the animals would wait not so patiently at the other end. Verrrrryyy cool.
There were loads of really cool slides to go down. She went on all of them thanks to her sweet sweet cousins!
I don’t think she got put down the whole day! ;)
We took a hay ride out to the different apple varieties in the orchard. My inner child was beyond happy.
^^ My little apple loving girl ^^
^^ You can only get away with this cheeky look for so long ;) ^^
And then there was wine tasting and the cutest yummiest gift shop where Abbie and I shared one of the best donuts of all time and fudge and caramel corn and all good things! It was a good day. The boys went shooting. Greg lost his fancy sunglasses that I adore. I prefer to think on this day instead :)
We went over to Greg’s cousins house for a little get together. They had my dream backyard. I love Michigan and its green, green lawns.
Aaaaand it looks like a trampoline will definitely be in our future.
Such a fun time! And best of all, this Grandma got to have all six of her grandchildren together :)
Thanks so much for having us and for being so sweet to our crazy kiddos. We love and miss you all!
